Projects

Here are a few examples of the work I have created in the past three years. I have made a variety of different videos that relate to different Athletics and activities around my community. Enjoy!

Latest Projects

Upcoming Baseball Preview

For this Baseball preview, my partners and I had to make contact with the baseball players and coaches in order to get all of the B-Roll we needed. Our communication was necessary as most of this video was produced out of school. We were successfully able to record, interview, and make a preview for the baseball teams Spring 2017 season.

Teacher/Trainer Spotlight- Mary Cardarelli

Ms. Cardarelli spends countless hours in and out of the school day keeping all of our MHS athletes safe, and she does not get all of the credit she deserved. I was assigned to make a story representing all of the work she does in and out of the building, which I was able to do. We had to find B-roll of Ms. Cardarelli helping athletes, and find a way to record interesting shots to attract viewers.

Autism Awareness Story

The month of April is known as Autism Awareness Month, so I took the idea and followed one families point of view from the Manchester community in order to describe what April means in their household. This story was able to show how important it truly is to support those in need in our community.

Winter Sports Update- Ice Hockey

Just like many sports in our school, Ice Hockey is not a popular sport that many know about. My partner and I took to the ice in order to show what it is like to play a competitive level of hockey, and we produced a story representing the year round commitment these players make. We had to work together in order to produce this story because none of it could be done in school. My partner and I had to attend a practice at 9:00PM in order to get the B-Roll needed for this story.

Benefit Story- Barry "Mitch" Mitchell

Following the passing of our beloved security guard Mitch, my partner and I were assigned to recap how the community was reacting and supporting those affected by the tragedy throughout our school. This project was difficult because we had to cover all of the events occuring, while still showing the true effect Mitch had on our community. I think our finished story did a good job at covering all aspects of our goal.

Best Buds Group Spotlight

Best Buds is one of few groups in our Manchester community that work to support those with special needs, and give them a normal childhood experience. Best Buds meets on a monthly basis, spending quality time with one another and making friends and memories that will surely last forever. This was a fun story to be involved in because I got to witness the true beauty of the relationships made through Best Buds.

Tech Schools Closing

This is one of the few stories I created this year that did not have to do with our MHS community. The budget cuts in tech schools affect students at Cheney Tech, and my job was to describe how this would affect kids across the state. This was a fun story to make because it extended out of our community, and it really took hard work to get the sources we need.

Game Recap- Manchester High School Vs. East Catholic

In this project, I had to film a baseball game with a partner. I used my film skills to take different shots of players during the game. For this project, I had to recap the game while making my script. I then summarized the game with according shots to enhance my viewers with a strong, informational video.

Pre-Season Podcast- Manchester High School Varsity Baseball

For this project, I had to use in school recourses like our Dean of Students to find out about our Varsity baseball team. My job was to talk about what exciting games they would have to offer this past season. I summarized the teams captains, important games, and the teams goals for the season. I enjoyed informin my school about our baseball team.

Student Athlete Spotlight- Aidan Michaud

For this project, I had to work with Chromakey in Adobe Premier Pro. I Interviewed Aidan Michaud on his athletic career, and took a field shot from a baseball field in town. I used this picture to replace the green screen that was in place for the original interview. I also used other editing skills to add background music, Jumpbacks, and Sound bytes to my video.
